A Week In Review...

Well it's been a while since I last updated...sadly I have yet another procrastinating tool. Facebook! Argh! Damn you Pam, Roberta and Shannon for introducing me to it! lol!

I'll start with last weekend. Saturday we went into New Minas and found out it was John Deere day...who knew?!? The Kentville Arena was literally packed with every type of truck you can imagine...from the hugest farming ones to ride-on lawn mowers. Michael was RUNNING from truck to truck. You were allowed to hop in and touch all the buttons so it was right up his alley. We bought him a JD remote control truck so then of course we had to go to Wal-Mart and buy a little something something for our Abbey-Loo! She picked out this cute doll that you can bring into the tub with you. Well, it seemed like a cool idea...BUT...when we opened it before bath time that night we noticed that there was a little wand attached with colourful tablets to be put inside. "Super" I thought, "How fun!" I popped the little purple tablet into the wand and in the water they jumped. It was all good until the colour started leaking our of the little star wand and Abbey thought it was blood (I think). She was like "Oh non maman!". Needless to say, I had to drain the bath water and start all over again. The wand is no longer...bad BAD idea! You live and learn I guess! :-)

Sunday was a beautiful day and we played at the park for a good long time. I had to pick up some work from school so we walked to my class and I let the kids play on the whiteboard. They were so excited...the littlest things are exciting to them eh?!?

Monday was my birthday! 32 YAY! How lucky am I to have a friend like Donna?!? I started my day reading her blog and bawling my eyes out. Then Jill called me and we both cried again! Donna is such a wonderful person and friend. I am so lucky to work with her and to be blessed with her friendship. Love ya Mrs. Peters ! xo

Yesterday was Thursday...my school board's French Consultant was in my room evaluating my student teacher. Sadly, her lesson didn't go so well. (I think she thought it went okay but I wanted to crawl under my desk and hide!!!) She's been in my class 5 weeks now and knows my routines but she was so nervous that it affected her delivery. Dommage! It's my first time having a student teacher and well, it has it's pro's and con's. This case was a little unique because she's older then I am and has two children that attend our school. Obviously , I've been on my best behaviour. lol! She's with me one more week and let me tell you, I'll be happy not to answer so many questions and have to explain my philosophy on this and that all day long?!? She's definitely kept me on my toes. I am looking forward to getting MY class back...and re-establishing discipline! argh!

Yesterday was also my favourite TV night...time for Survivor, Grey's Anatomy, Coke, popcorn and Wunderbar! yay! Grey's was FINALLY a new one and it was worth the wait. So much new "stuff" is a brewing!!!

I'm sorry for not writing more often lately...I've been a bad blogger! I'll be really good at updating this week...PROMISE!

Hot Cross Buns!

A lot of people wrote to me (not on my blog b/c no one ever leaves me comments except for Donna...note frustration!lol!) wanting to see Michael in his backwards Bob The Builder underwear. Well here it is!

Could that butt be any cuter?!? LOVE all the dimples! hee!hee! It was hard to keep him still to take the picture...he didn't understand why I didn't want him to smile and say "cheese". Enjoy!

Easter break...

I am loving being off work for 4 straight days. So much FUN! I've had such an awesome time with the kids and Steve. Yesterday Steve made deeeelicious omeletts for breakfast and an even more deeeeeeeelicious roast beef dinner. Yorkshire Pudding and everything! The first time my Mother-In-Law, Ann, made Yorkshires for me, the total Frenchie that I am, I thought I was getting dessert. I had never tasted them before?!? Now they are my favourite thing about roast beef dinners. Yummy!

The snow continues coming down here on the East Coast. Check out these before and after pictures. We went to bed on Saturday with it looking like the picture on the left and woke up Sunday morning to what's on the right. Crazy!!!!
















We had a blast outside today playing in the snow and shoveling. It's quite nice out at 4 degrees. While the kids were busy playing in the backyard and Steve was shoveling the back deck, I picked up a snowball and threw it at him...of course I missed and I knew that hit OR miss I was going to get it. I totally got tackled into the deep snow and was laughing hysterically but Michael & Abbey were not impressed. Michael kept yelling "Arrête Daddy!" and Abbey was saying "Non, non!" It was cute...my protectors indeed!!!
Well it's NAP TIME again. Gotta love naps!!!

Winter Wonderland!

We woke up to a Winter Wonderland this morning! So much for global warming eh?!? We got totally dumped on...about 2 feet worth! Crazy!!! There's so much snow that church was cancelled. Can you believe it?!? No church services on Easter Sunday! (sad really)

Luckily, the Easter bunny was able to make it through all the snow. Watching Abbey and Michael looking for Easter eggs was priceless. Abbey was literally running through the house. They were so excited! It's only 11:30 and they've already eaten WAY, WAY too much chocolate. Putting them down for their nap should be interesting. I know Steve and I will have no problem falling asleep! lol!

After much rummaging (and a desperate call to Donna for other contacts), I finally found the phone number to Mr Plow. There's just so much snow and the wind is horrible too...so we decided to call in back-up.

Nonetheless, Happy Easter wishes to everyone! xo

Life...

Yesterday...It started with a showing in the morning. It's only our second one and I'm already not enjoying the process. Argh! Anyway, we did get out and enjoy a nice family breakfast at the Kingston Diner while the real estate agent was at our place. Not much you can do to stay busy when everything is closed and the weather is brutal. Who looks at houses on Good Friday?!?

I decided that since it was a four day weekend I should take advantage of the extra time and "try" potty training Abbey and Michael. I bought very cute Bob the Builder and Dora The Explorer undies this week and the kids were very excited to try them on. On the Bob underwear, the trucks are on the bum part which is different then on Michael's Pull-Ups. The Pull-Ups have a big picture on the front as well as the back. He wanted no part of putting the underwear on the proper way. The trucks absolutely HAD to be on the front. Funny site to see... my "less than slender" little boy with half his bum hanging out the back of his underwear!!! Anyway Abbey was the first to pee....on DORA!!!! She came to me and said "Dora triste. Abbey pipi Dora." (Dora is sad b/c I peed on her) It was too funny! By the third time, I told Abbey that Dora was no longer "triste" that she was getting "faché" (mad) from being peed on! lol! Needless to say I ran out today to get another pack of each because I don't want to be doing laundry ALL the time! (Steve's not enjoying the process at all and has been mopping floors..it's quite hysterical really!) :-)

We had Luigi's pizza for supper and I was the lucky one elected to go get it. I almost ran over someone at the cross-walk in Berwick. That's one thing I've never gotten used to around here... *&%@#* cross-walks! We just don't have any in big cities. I definitely won't miss cross-walks when we're in Trenton that's for sure!!! (and I'm sure the pedestrians won't miss me either!!!)

Moving along...when the kids were asleep, Steve and I watched "The Holiday". Great, great movie! It was totally what I needed to relieve the stress from getting the house ready for showings. Just a happy feel good movie!

Today...had a super morning with Michael and Abbey making chocolate chip muffins. SUCH FUN! Went round two with the undies and potty training. Got hair cuts (they always look so darn cute after haircuts eh?!?) and did groceries (not so fun!). Barb (our caregiver) came over with SO many Easter treats for the kids. She spoils them too much! They were very happy to see her and even happier that Mommy was staying instead of leaving when she arrived lol!

The kids just went to sleep. I put them down very late tonight because we were just having such a great time playing that I didn't want it to end. It was like 9:30 by the time I left their room. I know...I should put them down earlier but when I don't have work to do at night I get to enjoy extra cuddles and reading time and who wouldn't want that?!?!? Parenting is a funny thing because tonight for example I didn't want them to go to bed because I enjoyed their company so much and last week I would have included them as a bonus feature with the sale of our house! lol! Anyway, I've got an Easter egg hunt to plan! Must get busy hiding eggs! I'll tell you all about it tomorrow!

P.S. I would like to start an online petition to make the Master's Golf tournament a one day affair...Steve's world stops when it is on! Who's with me?!?!? Plus...tonight is a big night for the Leafs...if they lose they'll be playing golf too!!! It's been sports only on TV for the last 48 hours! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Why couldn't I have fallen in love with someone who hates sports?!?

MLS!

Our house is posted on MLS and we had our first showing today. It's all feeling pretty real now! The pics our real estate agent took are pretty good (a little blurry) although his picture of the dining room is not my favourite. It's not a big room to begin with but the picture makes it seem even smaller because one of the french doors is kinda open. Maybe I'm just being picky?!?
