Trip!

Over the Christmas holidays we decided that our family was ready for a dog. See what free time does to you?!? Steve started actively searching in the Fall but we found our perfect match in December. He was a golden doodle puppy named Trip! We fell in love with him over the internet and bought him right away. Look at that face...

Sadly, plans fell through due to embargo issues and lack of heated cargo planes flying into Halifax. At one point we were going to be flying to New York to pick the puppy up?!? Needless to say...we will be getting a puppy soon. Hopefully one from Canada that we can pick up ourselves. At least we now know we are ready for a dog, but I think we'll wait for our next posting to buy one.

Major Fun With the Major's!

We love hanging out with Mary and her beautiful children! The kids get to have fun...and the Mommies too! We got together one winter afternoon in January to go sledding at the Canex.

Connect Four!

Abbey and Michael got the game Connect 4 for Christmas. What an awesome game! I remember sitting on my grand-parents kitchen table in New Liskeard playing with my grand-papa Ayotte and my cousins as a child. It was sentimental that this Christmas I was playing it with my own children! Crazy!!!

Abbey is so freaking good it!! She beat me fair and square on many occasions!

Of course the adults HAD to play too! A little healthy competition for the Connect Four Championship Of The World!!! ha!ha! I'm not sure who held the title at the end...either Steve or grand-maman!! Here's a picture of a heated battle...ha!ha!

Christmas 2010!

The stocking were hung on the banister with care,

They were loaded up, so St Nick had surely been there!

We had such a wonderful Christmas holiday! My parents came to visit from December 22nd to December 27th. It was a short but very sweet visit!

Here's Abbey and Michael opening up their gifts on Christmas morning! The stockings are hung just outside their bedroom doors so it's tricky to fill them quietly. Michael woke up at 1:30 and came running into our bedroom to announce that Santa had filled our stockings and then at 4 am Abbey did the same. Luckily, they went back to bed until 8…and then the gift opening extravaganza began! SO FUN!

Hockey!

Our second season of hockey is in full swing! Michael is now in IP2 and continues to be super happy to get out on the ice! He has improved so much! Steve is still coaching and loving it. It's nice that he can relate (a little) to the challenges of "teaching" 6 year olds!! When ever he gets frustrated and vents to me about the kids not listening during practice...I remind him that I do it everyday, with MORE children, in a more boring setting, in a language they don't even understand! LOL!
