Campfire!!

We decided to have one last campfire before heading out to Ontario. It's always a great time for the kids! Michael and Abbey LOVE roasting marshmallows... but don't like eating them?!? 

Needless to say I eat A LOT of marshmallows on campfire nights!!! 

Like Father...Like Son!

Now Ann, my dearest Mother-In-Law...you will FOR SURE be able to relate to this! Does this remind you of anybody!?! It's Sunday and there's golf on...where else would a McAlpine boy be? On a couch napping of course!!!! 

It's a third generation problem!!! 

Ahhhh!

I'm on holidays!!! Day 1 of my holidays was spent enjoying every single minute with my babes!!! We went raspberry and blueberry picking at Dempsey's, went to McDonald's for lunch, walked the fitness trail at the Duck Pond and then played outside with friends until supper time! It was a fabulous day! What I hated most about my course was the time I was missing out with them. 

Here's Michael's breakfast the day after our berry picking adventure! Yogourt, raspberries, blueberries and granola! Yummm! Abbey wouldn't touch this with a ten foot pole~ 

Art Camp!

While I was taking my summer courses, Abbey did a one week Art Camp from 9 to 11 am. The Art Teacher was a former colleague of mine, Mme Josee. Having taught with her I new her artistic flair and was anxious to enroll Abbey in her classes. Mme. Josee didn't disappoint!!! Abbey had a FANTASTIC week! On the last day of Art Camp, they did "une exposition d'art" to show off their creations. My professor very graciously allowed me to slip out of class so I could be there and see Abbey's work on display. Here's a picture of what my little Picasso created...

So much fun! Michael says he wants to join next year as well! 

Year One = OVER!!!

I'm officially one year closer to being a Master of Education! LOL!  Every single day I questioned what the hell I was doing to myself, my kids, my family but now that it's over...it wasn't so bad! The heat was brutal but the professor and course content was really great so overall it was a good experience. It totally helped that Abbey and Michael were as content as can be at Kim's house with their friends Christina and Catherine.

Here's where I spent the first three weeks of my vacation...

Fab "FORE"!

Steve loves golf! Michael LOVES golf! Abbey likes it...and well we all know how I feel about it! LOL! but it is a really great family sport so I am as supportive as I can be about it. Friday night we all decided to go play 9 holes at Paragon after supper. Steve and the kids have been out together half a dozen times already this year but this was my first time out. We had a blast! 

Michael enjoys driving the cart. Here are my boys sooo happy to be on the golf course!

I hate to admit it but I'm actually looking forward to going again! 

Fun In The Sun!

It's been a very hot July so far...and unfortunately for most of it I've been sitting in a classroom melting! Ugh! The end is near though! Only a four more days of class to go and then it's VACATION time!!! My usual after class routine has been to pick up Abbey and Michael from Kim's house and take all the kids to my house (or the Base Pool) for a few hours of water fun. The "gang" (Eva, Ethan, Christina, Catherine, Cody and Luke) all get along so well that it's really a joy to have them over. Here's a few snapshots of our water fun!

Grand-maman to the Rescue!

Abbey has nightmares about coyotes. Michael has nightmares about falling off his bike. I have nightmares about Dr Katharine Bowlby! She was my Research Seminar professor for my last Masters course! The assignments she gave us were enough to give you nightmares! I have NEVER worked so hard in any university course in my life!!!  So needless to say...the course, plus report cards, plus end of the year craziness, plus Steve being away = I NEED MY MOMMY!!! 

Having my Mom around makes everything better. It's like living in a hotel. You leave your room in shambles and you come back to it neat and tidy! Hahaha! I was able to get everything done and not have a nervous breakdown so needless to say I was very thankful for her help! 

Here are a few pictures of my Mom with Abbey and Michael! They were so happy to have her visit as well! I've said this a million times before but "Oh how I wish we could live closer together!!!"

While I worked away my Mom played, cooked, cleaned, sang and taught all the neighbourhood kids a new game and bouncing ball song. She's amazing! The last picture shows how they ended each day. Cuddled up in bed with a good book! Merci Maman! You saved the day again!!!

413 Golf!

Steve organized his squadron's golf day and his foursome decided to dress up and have a little fun with it! They ended up winning it all and this is the picture that's going beside their trophy in the display case! So proud! ha!ha!ha!
